Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Zaxeriv uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website.
Last updated: June 4, 2026
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Zaxeriv is a free website. Cookies and local storage on this site are not used to process payments or to restrict access to content behind a paywall — all stories remain readable without an account. Optional sign-in cookies exist only to support your personal account when you choose to use one.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember information about your visit, such as authentication status or preferences. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and comparable browser mechanisms.
2. How we use cookies
Zaxeriv uses cookies and similar technologies only as necessary to operate the website, maintain your session, remember preferences, and protect the service. We do not use cookies to sell your data or to enable third-party advertising profiles.
3. Types of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as signing in.
- Authentication cookie (
auth_token) — keeps you signed in after login or registration. It contains a signed session token, is HTTP-only, and expires after two (2) days of inactivity from issuance. Without this cookie, account features requiring sign-in will not work.
3.2 Preference cookies and local storage
These store choices you make to improve your experience. They are not used to track you across other websites.
- Theme preference (
zaxeriv-theme) — stored in your browser's local storage to remember light, dark, or system theme settings.
3.3 Functional and security-related storage
During development or operation, the site may use short-lived technical storage required by the application framework to deliver pages securely and efficiently. This storage is limited to operational needs and is not used for marketing.
3.4 Analytics cookies
At present, Zaxeriv does not deploy third-party analytics or advertising cookies. If we introduce analytics in the future that are not strictly necessary, we will update this policy and, where required by law, request your consent before activating them.
4. Cookie duration
- Session-related tokens — up to 2 days, after which re-authentication is required
- Theme preference — persists until you clear browser storage or change the setting
5. First-party and third-party cookies
The cookies described above are first-party cookies set by Zaxeriv. We do not knowingly permit third-party advertising networks to set tracking cookies on our pages. Embedded content from third parties, if added in the future, may use their own cookies subject to their respective policies.
6. Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- view cookies stored on your device
- delete all or selected cookies
- block third-party or all cookies
- receive alerts before cookies are stored
If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website — including sign-in — may not function correctly. Clearing local storage will reset your theme preference.
Guides for common browsers:
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. Because there is no uniform industry standard for responding to such signals, Zaxeriv does not currently alter its practices solely based on DNT headers. We limit tracking by design and do not engage in cross-site behavioral advertising.
8. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices change or when required by law. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
9. Contact
